The soul should always stand ajar,
ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.
Emily Dickinson
Share your ideas, your enthusiasm and your skills. If you’ve found the joy of making art, pass it on.
It’s a gift for life.
For years, Marenthe searched for her home planet. In vain. So she created it herself and called it ‘The Art Beat Club’. She wants it to be a bubbling force for artistic creatures living a more creative and happy life.
Creativity is imagination at its deepest level. It’s a skill, a muscle. Once you’ve discovered the creative part of yourself, you start seeing opportunities, ideas and solutions everywhere. It’s not just about sitting down and forcing ideas to come. NO. It’s working on something, doing research, distancing yourself from the work and letting the idea appear at an unexpected moment, often in the car or in the shower …
Love stories ❤️
What students say about our courses
I love all the details and inspiration that you provide in your courses. I love waking up and checking out what’s new in the class each day, and you present it so beautifully ❤️.
I also really appreciated how you interact with us so much, and are so present in the group and during your classes; it feels that the group is such a safe zone shared by everyone. I really feel like I am in the best club ever!
I feel that I climbed out of my comfort zone in this class, for sure. In fact, I felt exhilarated during the whole class ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
— Sharon Nullmeyer, over enthusiastic artist
This course did not meet my expectations: it SURPASSED them. It blasted them out of the sky, tore them up into confetti, ground them into pigment … Whatever I thought this class was going to be, it was so much more.
I needed this class to be full of joyful creativity. I needed it to stretch me artistically, to challenge me intellectually, but to still be fun. Every day, sitting down to create felt like a personal gift: “What has Marenthe given me today?”
And … in all honesty, I was intimidated at first by the price, but it was worth every penny and so much more.
— Sarah Windisch, music teacher, educational arsonist, life gourmand
“I sought Marenthe’s help when I was struggling with my book. What helped me the most was that she didn’t impose her opinion on me. She’s clear, assertive, and asks the right questions that ignite my own thinking. She intervenes when I digress and provides valuable advice. For me, it felt like the perfect mix. In our first conversation, she immediately said that ‘the valve needed to be released.’ That motivated me to take action. She grounded me and activated my mind and my heart. I’m glad I asked for her guidance.”
— Hendriek Mulder (her first book, “Het Alene Meisje” has just been released in 2023)
I fell in love with this course. From the emotion of receiving an email every day full of inspiration, beautiful videos, books and movie suggestions, and art history, to the great support and energy of the group and the teacher … It was incredible!
It helped me dream big again as well as making me very happy to be surrounded by so many inspirational people.
Plus, I am less afraid of trying and making mistakes, which is a huge achievement, since I tend to be a perfectionist.

I’ve taken over 100 online art classes and several art retreats over the last 10 years but, wow, my expectations could never have imagined the high impact of this course. It exceeded my expectations by a light-year.
This course felt like art school without the pressure of harsh critiques and making grades. The assignments were so thoughtfully and creatively researched. I don’t think I have the words to convey how inspiring they were and how exciting it was to be pushed to create. The course content was as beautifully and lovingly designed as if it were a painting going in a museum.
I’ve been searching my whole life for ways to transition from art student to artist. It feels like I’ve read every book, bought every art supply, taken every art class – looking for the key, the answer, the solution, the path. This class blew my mind. It’s like Marenthe opened up her lovely creative process and literally shared how an artist works. This class wasn’t about technique, although there were techniques shared; it was really about developing your own process for creating your own work. Marenthe demonstrated how to develop ideas and then asked the students to produce their own solutions to the concepts she created.
Brilliant.
The way in which Marenthe built this class demonstrated to me how a REAL artist works – how to focus your energies and develop ideas. How to do the work. It’s like discovering the key to the Rosetta Stone.
Marenthe, you are a treasure and a delight. You’ve introduced me to artists and artisans I’ve never been exposed to and woven them into assignments that spark all my joys. I want more of that.
— Kimberly Owen, Texas girl who travels the world for her job and makes art for fun. Obsessed with Paris.
I felt like I was a real artist. I have a marketing/graphic design background, but I just started making art with my hands about 5 years ago. I sometimes it is daunting “competing” against artists who went to art school. Taking this class made me feel really proud of how far I’ve come, that my art is actually good, and I feel like I can tackle anything!
Honestly, every single assignment made me happy. I would read the description of the day’s assignment in the morning, and my mind would go nuts! 🤯 I had so much fun doing the assignments.
— Sara Coulter
”Marenthe, you are so unique, inventive and imaginative in the way you approach things. You helped me see that we all have that in us, our own unique view of the world, our own quirky interests and style. Personally, you encouraged me to be more myself in what I do, just by setting an example. I really appreciate that. Thank you.”
— Frankie van Mourik, artist
“Marenthe’s classes are so liberating and fun. I continue to be amazed by the incredible and inspiring work everyone in our class is producing. I am loving the leaps I am making personally by doing, feeling and playing as I learn and create. Marenthe, you are an amazing person and teacher.”
— Rebecca Davis, artist
“Marenthe is super duper and I love many things about her persona. She’s quirky and witty and infuses a lot of humor in her work.”
— Christina Mallet, artist
Oh my goodness! Yes, this course met my expectations – and more! My self-confidence really started to expand, I started to “see” things differently, and I loved all the creative challenges you set for us! Plus, the fear of trying new things, whether different materials or a concept, has dissipated too!
